Good Samaritan Celebrates Leadership Transition

News

Since 2018, Drew Peirce has led Good Samaritan’s efforts to end homelessness and poverty in Ottawa County. After much consideration, Drew has decided to transition from his role as Executive Director on June 16, 2023, to explore the next chapter in his career.

Reflecting on his time at Good Samaritan, Drew said, “For nearly five years, I’ve watched and led an incredible team working to end homelessness in our community. In addition to responding to an unprecedented pandemic, we’ve expanded our services in the last few years and launched all new initiatives—like an eviction prevention program (OCEPP), property management services, and opened a Grand Haven office.”

“I leave incredibly proud of all that Good Samaritan has accomplished over the past four-plus years and of the team I have been honored to serve alongside,” he added.

Drew’s influence on staff, board leadership, and our community has left an undeniable impact that positions Good Samaritan well for the future. “Drew came to Good Samaritan at just the right time,” said Gary Beyer, President of Good Samaritan’s Board of Directors, “and he helped lead the organization through transitions that nobody could have anticipated. He was also the first to say that the majority of credit was due to the amazing staff. Drew leaves Good Samaritan a much different and stronger organization than when he came—and I will be eternally grateful for that.”

Building on the incredible work accomplished under Drew’s leadership, Good Samaritan’s Board and Staff are excited to enter its next season—one that will capitalize on the changes of the last few years while finding new and unique ways to serve the community for the future.

The Board of Directors has begun the hiring process for its next Executive Director, and more information will be available soon. In the interim, Good Samaritan’s programs and services will continue uninterrupted as the Board of Directors, Good Samaritan’s leadership team, and the entire staff team remain committed, excited, and passionate to continue their work.
