Housing Case Management Lead
As the Housing Case Manager Team Lead, you will guide the work of a dynamic team of housing case managers who provide in-home supportive services to persons facing evictions or entering housing out of homelessness. The ideal candidate will be well organized, have strong communication and problem-solving skills, and will understand and lead from a strength-based, person-centered social service framework. Housing Case Manager
Good Samaritan Ministries mission is to end poverty and homelessness. We do this by mobilizing faith-based and community partners, activating individual and community assets, and meeting immediate needs in our community.
The Housing Case Manager is responsible for providing solution-focused, person-centered support to homeless households and/or households at risk of becoming homeless during the entire re-housing/eviction prevention process. This often includes assisting with housing search, attending frequent in-home case management meetings, and offering aftercare support services. Having a basic understanding of rental rules, a proven ability to assess and determine assistance needs for households in crisis, and providing a case management process that is organized, objective, and ethical are expectations for this role.
The Housing Case Manager must have reliable transportation and be able to commute throughout all of Ottawa County. This position may work primarily from our Holland or Grand Haven office. Work location will be based on the organization’s need and candidate preference.
Eviction Prevention Stability Coach
As an important part of the Good Samaritan Housing Team, the Eviction Prevention Stability Coach will work with vulnerable Ottawa County individuals and families who are behind on rent to determine eligibility for financial assistance. They will be equipping households with the tools and potential for achieving economic success. They will be responsible for conducting tenant meetings, monitor progress towards a housing stability plan and providing referrals tailored to clients’ unique circumstances. Additionally, they will be responsible for entering information accurately, and following up with local courts, landlords, and clients in a professional and timely manner.
