Here’s a brief look at three common affordable housing programs and how we can help.

      Homeless Services Assistance

Good Samaritan’s Homeless Rapid Rehousing programs provide the following services:

      • Security Deposit Financial Assistance
      • Rental Financial Assistance
      • Case Management
      • Home Maintenance Education
      • Housing Search Services

Housing Choice Voucher (formerly known as Section 8)

Any Ottawa County resident currently experiencing homelessness qualifies for placement on the Housing Choice Voucher. Although Good Samaritan does not run the voucher program, we’re here to ensure your information is added to the waitlist. Vouchers pay a portion of your rent, meaning you’ll may no more than 40% of your income toward rent. To be eligible, you must:

      • Be an Ottawa County resident
      • Meet the Federal definition of “Homeless” (sleeping in an emergency shelter, a vehicle, or outside or other places not meant for human habitation)

      Housing Assessment

Area housing programs have different eligibility requirements. We can tell you which housing programs are currently available in our county and complete assessments with you to determine if you might qualify for these programs.
