Good Samaritan is thrilled to welcome Brian De Vos to the Good Samaritan team as the organization’s next Executive Director.
Five months ago, the Board of Directors began an intensive and wide-reaching search for Good Samaritan’s next Executive Director. After more than 175 applicants, dozens of interviews, and countless hours of conversation, Brian has agreed to step into the next phase of this great organization’s life.
Brian brings more than 35 years of nonprofit leadership to Good Samaritan. He’s worked at Bethany Christian Services as the Senior VP of Child and Family Services, as the Executive Director at Sunny Crest Youth Ranch, and most recently as the VP of All God’s Children International’s U.S. Child Advocacy Center. Outside of his work, Brian and his wife joined alongside several families to bring Spanish immersion programs to Zeeland Christian Schools—something he’s passionate about as the adoptive father to a Spanish-speaking daughter.
Aside from his experience, Brian brings a lot of passion to Good Samaritan’s work in ending homelessness and poverty, as well as deep ties to the Holland and West Michigan communities. Brian will begin his new role as Executive Director on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, and is already looking toward 2024 and beyond in partnership with the staff, leadership, and Board of Directors.
In the weeks ahead, the Good Samaritan team plans to offer opportunities to meet Brian and hear from him about the future of Good Samaritan’s work to end homelessness and poverty in Ottawa County. If you have any questions about this transition, please contact Gary Beyer, Good Samaritan’s Board of Directors President, at garyjbeyer@gmail.com.
